Welcome to Central Valley Christian Schools
Central Valley Christian School has the oldest private Christian high school in the city of Visalia with a full sports program. It is a CSI (Christian Schools International) school that is fully accredited by the W.A.S.C. (Western Association of Schools and Colleges). It is not an ecclesiastical body, nor is it subject to any ecclesiastical organization. Its philosophical basis is the Word of God, the Bible, as interpreted in the Reformed doctrinal standards. The school is parent-run with four churches forming the nucleus of board and committee representation. It is a school designed to assist in the education of the children of Christian parents. The campus is located on 33 acres of land (and growing) on the west edge of Visalia. The staff consists of Christian teachers, administrators and support personnel who strive to live lives that reflect their Christian convictions. Central Valley Christian continues to grow, with a Chapel/Fine-arts building presently under construction.
The Central Valley Christian School Society began in 1944 with the Hanford Christian School, a small elementary school of approximately 50 students. The school grew over the years and in 1979 it had nearly 200 children. A large number of students were bussed from the Visalia and Tulare area. It was decided by the school society in April of 1979 to begin a second campus in Visalia, and work towards the development of a high school also. In the fall of 1981, the school made the decision to begin the high school in September of 1982, with the 9th grade, and then add one grade per year to the high school until it had its first graduating class in the spring of 1986.
