Sep 06: New moon, 8:10 p.m. PDT Usually, the best star-viewing day of month
Sep 07: Moon at Perigee.
Sep 08: Mercury 9° south of moon (1 fist at arms length = 10°)
Sep 08: Venus 8° south of moon (1 fist at arms length = 10°)
Sep 14: Mercury stands still in its dance through the sky
Sep 21 : Full moon, 6:59 a.m. PDT
