The Worldview and Apologetics course is designed to
help students understand the tenets of a Christian worldview and how it
compares with those of other leading worldviews in our culture.
Students will 1)
understand the nature of the Apologetic task, 2) develop critical thinking
skills, 3) recognize the underlying assumptions that govern unbelieving
thought, 4) evaluate non-Christian modes of thought, and 5) become equipped
with specific answers to the common objections raised by unbelievers.
In addition to the instructor's lecture materials, selected
segments of the
video-based curriculum Understanding the Times, by Summit Ministries,
will be used. Particular emphasis will be placed upon a Christian evaluation
of Naturalistic Humanism, Pantheistic Humanism, Postmodernism, and Islam.
